My Proverbs Story

The book of Proverbs gives us practical wisdom that we can use to live out our God-given purposes in life. It protects us, encourages us and points us to Jesus. Was there a time when the Holy Spirit used a passage from Proverbs in your life? Tell us about it. Comment below!

"Come and listen to my counsel. I'll share my heart with you and make you wise." Proverbs 1:23

This verse is a comfort to me. No matter how foolish I have been, even with all the really dumb things I have said and done, God's wisdom is available to me.

Pastor Chad, you said something Sunday that really shook me. "Solomon, the wisest man that ever lived, died STUPID."
I never considered that before. This guy that was so full of wisdom...how could he have been so foolish?

It's scary to think how we can get to a point where we think we know enough already. What really scares me is that I am not even close to being as wise as Solomon was. If even he could die stupid, how much more could I?

So it seems the foolish and the wise have this in common: We ALL need to seek God's wisdom and KEEP seeking it. We're never too foolish and we're never too wise.

In John 15:7 Jesus said, "But if you remain in Me and my words remain in you, you may ask Me for anything you want, and it will be granted!"

The only way for His words to remain in us to keep reading them.
